With his personal vision of making Local engineers globally competent, Er. Bikash Gurung is serving Robotics Association of Nepal [RAN] as a president, a not for profit non governmental organization working in the field of Robotics and Automation Technology and has been actively working to promote young tinkers, makers, innovators and engineers since 8 years. To achieve his vision, he has been continuously providing platform to sharp the local talents through capacity building program events such as International Robotics Competition, Machine Learning Competition, Robot Based Business Cup, Miss Tech [women empowerment program], Drone as a Service, NASA International Space App Challenge, Automate Nepal and many others. Their belief on multi cross collaboration of different stakeholders has brought together the interest of leading organization such as Google, Microsoft, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, NAST, Nepal Army, UNDP, US Embassy, ICIMOD, World Vision, Fusemachines, Asia Foundation and others to promote local innovators and their innovation.
He was a Nepal Delegate for STARS Symposium Singapore, and Key Panelist for Multi Stakeholder program organized by Internet Governance forum on ‘AI- Ethical And Legal Challenges for Emerging Economies. Mr. Gurung is a Board member of EduTech Nepal, Advisor at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Coordinator at Technical Supervision team under Technology Development and innovation Group formed to fight Against COVID19 by MOEST, Secretariat Coordinator at Nepal AI Conference 2020 and was a Community Coach of Bridge builder Challenge OpenIdeo, Consultant/expert for Development Aid Recruitment solutions as well. Nepal Innovation Mapper, Sister Robot, Drone Rapid Response Team COVID19 Nepal Framework, Swab Collection Booth, Fake News/Real News and others are his initiative against COVID19.
